My first films were LEGO stop-motion animations, made on an iPad when I was nine or ten. I built scenes frame by frame, discovering how small changes in movement and timing could bring a story to life. Making and editing my own YouTube videos gave me another place to experiment, follow my curiosity, and develop an instinct for where to cut.

Editing was also part of the world I grew up in. My dad is a professional editor whose work has included artists such as Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Roger Waters, Pitbull, Kesha, and Jennifer Lopez. He introduced me to Adobe Premiere Pro when I was young, giving me an early foundation in the craft and a close-up view of the care that goes into an edit.

That connection to filmmaking continued through my sister, who earned a bachelor’s degree in film from Pratt. Through her work, I saw more of the process behind a film—from what happens on set to the decisions that shape it in post-production. It deepened my appreciation for how an edit brings those pieces together.

Over time, that early curiosity became a lasting creative practice. I’ve always been drawn to finding the story in the footage: knowing when to move, when to hold, and when a simple cut can say more than anything else.
